PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Jeeva: "ABD less South Africa and Ronaldo less Real Madrid - ends with same result."
Sandeep: @Prathap Damy. For me South Africa are still chokers. This time they choked under World Cup pressure itself. Not under any particular match pressure. That is why they are playing much better as they are playing without fear.
Prathap Damy: Only positive thing for SA in this WC is that they are not going to get the name of 'CHOKERS'.
Harsha Bhogle: "So happy to see Hashim Amla get runs. One of the greats of our era."
Harsha Bhogle: "So happy to see Hashim Amla get runs. One of the greats of our era."
Jaga: "We have missed this South African team in the WC."
Rajeev: "Amla, you are playing good today but it's too late!"
Stotch: "On paper, SA is a much better team than the way they have played in this WC. Injuries and lack of confidence have led to their downfall."
RANJAN C: "If SL win this, they climb to the number 5 spot which would definitely give them some positive vibes to fight hard against West Indies and India."
Ayush Bagga: "Sri Lanka need to prove that the win against England was not a fluke."
Vasanthi: Not sure how much of the recent SA vs SL series you watched, but Udana took a real liking to some of the SA bowling and played some dynamite knocks down the order, albeit in a losing cause. SL will be hoping for a repeat dose here.
Srikar K: Hurting to see Sri Lanka perform like this. Oh those golden times. Sanga, Mahela, Murali...
Nihal Revankar: #CBhaveyoursay @cricbuzz Sri Lanka seriously needs to show some intent here. You can't be dependent on Malinga all the time and expect him to do miracles
Rishikesh: I am worried about the future of cricket in Lanka. The kind of attitude they show on the cricket field and the level of fitness they have are not good enough. I see a clear lack of determination in their senior players. This is not the Srilanka we know.
Ankush Jain: England would be watching this and must be thinking " WHY US".
Sumedh Desai: #CBHaveYourSay SL has not shown any intent to finish top 4 in this tournament except for the England match. Its not the Lankan team we are used to see play, they have relied more on finding excuses for their non performance more anything else.
Nandy: With the way Sri Lankans have been playing, I do not think they really deserve a top four finish. They have always been holding on to the thinnest edge of the rope trying not to fall.
Amit Mishra: #CBHaveYourSay Who would have thought at start of this World Cup that South Africa would be playing a spoil sport , and that too, to Sri Lanka's chances in the tournament. This game is so unpredictable! And that's the beauty of this world cup and the format @cricbuzz
Ginu Krishnan: #CBHaveYourSay Sri Lanka should change their batting approach in the middle overs. They need to score runs in the middle orders. Playing dot balls and throwing the wicket away is not the right approach.
Saikartik Chintakindi: South Africa could have used Olivier in the pace department as he can provide extra pace option! South Africa really missing the trick! #CBHaveYourSay - Duanne Olivier, my friend, has aborted his international career for South Africa shortly after proving himself, and is now playing for Yorkshire on Kolpak.
AArav Sharan: #CBHaveYourSay If only SA experimented with the selection in the earlier part of the tournament, it would've been a different story. #SAvSL
Mussaraf Hussain: Chris Morris has been outstanding for SA. Hope he becomes proper all format all-rounder. Got abilities but need consistency.
Eswar: Wonder why the Proteas did not pick Pretorius in all their previous matches! This guy seems to be a match winner.
Aditya: Why do teams wait to get knocked out and then start playing the way the should have played from the beginning? -- Firstly, no team likes to get knocked out in sport and sometimes, once you are in a nothing-to-lose situation, it tends to bring the best out of you and play with more freedom.
DeeJay: Looks like Proteas are playing this match with more positive intent.
Murali: I think it is a bit naive to blame IPL for Rabada's form. Jofra Archer also played in the IPL. He is among the top wicket takers in this world cup. Rabada does not have much experience bowling in English conditions. None of the SA pace bowlers were able to make a mark in this world cup.
Prithviraj: Both these teams have a lot to ponder over once the tournament concludes. They cannot possibly continue like this!
Nandha: KGs pace has dropped considerably. Would definitely attribute this to the IPL and poor workload management. 6 Wickets from 58 overs he has bowled in this WC. Reasons why other teams like Australia and NZ are faring better, their pacers have had enough rest and workload managed effectively.OH SA!
Wajid: "Pretorius should have played in South Africa's last few matches instead of Miller."
Anshuman: "Although Sri Lanka haven't been at their best in this world cup, I like Dimuth as their captain. He brings a sense of calmness and assurance to the team which was missing in the last couple of years."
srikanth: "Remember the name - 'Avishka Fernando'."
Nitin: "Sri Lanka have got one boundary in almost each over. Time to see Tahir here."
Mandeep: "This has been a WC of fast bowlers so far. Surprising to see Rabada failing to make a mark."
Thanigai: "Avishka continues from where he left against England."
Vijai: South Africa to Sri Lanka: "We have died but will not let you live."
Sakthi: "I think Avishka Fernando has a bright future, the way he times the ball sweetly and controls his shots, Sri Lanka would be expecting him to perform well today."
