Harsha Bhogle: Isn't it brilliant that young players like Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are drawing people into Test cricket?

Harsha Bhogle: What a gem from Gill. He just makes you watch cricket.

Krishna: "What is the reason behind Australia not getting wickets here? Is the pitch not helping bowler or Batsmen are playing very good or Australia bowling is not good enough?" - a bit of all three, a lot of the second, the least of the third.

Prathamesh Kulkarni: "With 60 odd overs left with 246 to chase, and 9 wickets in hand, why cant India switch to ODI mode and go all guns blazing? Is it that the pitch is aiding bowlers heavily?" - There's a crack running right down the line outside off-stump that hasn't responded too much and might open up, but it's the stakes that are not particularly easy to deal with for India. They need to retain the trophy, and going for the win MAY mean they lose it. On the other hand, going for the win is beneficial for the WTC points table.

Pulkit Singhal: This Indian squad might have just played its most competitive cricket on foreign soil ever but almost everyone would rate it as successful or unsuccessful on the basis of how they play today and if they can retain the trophy or not. How much crueler can it get?

Mrunal Dave: We all should highly appreciate the fact that this Indian team having a majority of inexperienced players forced Aussies to select partially fit Warner. Shaunak: It's not easy to fill the shoes players like Bumrah, Shami and Kohli but the debutants have done a fantastic job in doing so and not letting a full strength Australian team get away with the series.

Soham: Australia here simply wasting time by not declaring as these few overs are the one which will decide the game

Palash: Considering India's fightback throughout the series, Australia wouldn't want to take any chances. Their first priority is to set a target which is out of reach for India. 'Think this target is already out of India's reach'

Bhoopathi: Tomorrow's weather forecast as well seems to be rainy so the full quota of 90 overs will not be bowled. Considering the situation, Australia should declare and look for wickets before the stumps today if they really want to win this game

Nitin: We might run out of batting heroes when the brute pace attack and Lyon come with everything they have got on this pitch. The real test of character lies ahead which will decide the fate of the series.

Mohan: India needs to stop runs. There is no point going for wickets. Should look to make Australia bat for as long as possible

Abhishek: It will be difficult for Matthew Wade to keep his position in the Test team after his "not so flattering" returns, especially with Marsh brothers and Travis Head breathing down his neck.

Luffy: with the possibility of rain tomorrow, Australia will try to take as much as they can take from this session and will be looking to declare it by tea.

Aditya: This Test series has been the most exciting I've seen in a long, long time.

Harsha Bhogle: Another twist to this game. The loss of Steve Smith will slow Australia down but the manner of his dismissal will be disquieting. This game is writing its own script.

Abhishek Chakraborty: Australia definitely has been the better team, regardless of the fact that the scoreline stands at 1-1. The resilience and grit of the best quartet of Aussie bowlers is on display. The 36 all out has been a blot for the Indian team.

Abinash Das: Unfortunately along with Grit, resilience and confidence of the rookies this series will also be remembered for Injuries and dropped catches.

Arun Bargur: Woke up around 6am and was disappointed looking at the scoreboard with Australia zero down, slept for 20 mins more and was surprised to see 4 down already.... Since then I dint miss a ball, what a Test series!!!!

Heet: Even if we draw this game and retain the BGT, Australians will not accept the fact that we were the better side with our India B team and they failed to win with their strongest side but will rather boast about not being beaten at Gabba

Kundra: Though things were taken in a somewhat exaggerated fashion (I feel), when you have a history of "incident", you are bound to receive criticism and people would feel that it was cynical rather than a spontaneous reaction.

Vaibhav: I think shadow batting on a pitch after day 2 is totally okay. The marking guards are firmly entrenched and it takes a lot of work to remove them. I played a bit of cricket and on day 4 and day 5, they are nearly impossible to remove.

Harsha Bhogle: Intriguing day ahead. The weather is on everyone's mind and yet you cannot let that influence decision making too much because it can be fickle. Best thing for this test is if Australia are bowled out for 250 and India are set a tricky 280...

Debaditya: This has really been a lot of fun. Resilience has effectively reduced a 4-test series to a 1-inning shootout, with Australia ahead by 53 runs.

Venkatraman: It is amazing to watch Sundar hanging in there. Doesn't seem to be worried about the scoreboard at all. Absorbing ball by ball and not getting complacent with the runs he is scoring. Just pure focus. A new find for the tests!

rajan: Test match at its best.. Bowlers trying to finish off the tail, Tailenders hanging in there.. great to watch

Murtaza: Two different Test matches, two inspiring stories. The way India and Sri lanka have fought back is an inspiration for life to fight tough situations. Test matches are here to stay for long long times to come.

Devarsh Shah: Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar clearly showing us that it is not enough only to play dot balls but also to keep scoring runs at a brisk rate which helps increasing pressure on the opposition.

Saumya Doshi: That Shardul shot at 90.6 was as good as the Shubman Gill's authoritative slap through covers.

Arnab: Another day, another fightback. What is more important is that different players have risen to different situations. Rahane in 2nd test, Pant, Ash and Vihari in the following, and now these two young guns.

Aditya: The amount of hard work that is put in India A and Domestic Matches is reflected by Shardul and Washy! Amazing partnership and getting crucial runs for India!

Harsha Bhogle: Extremely impressed with the fighting attitude shown by Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur. They have symbolised what India has been in this series, consistently punching above their weight. It is so satisfying to see.

Priyanshu Poddar: Yet again, India bouncing back when everybody had written them off. Probably even Australia will stand and applaud them for the kind of resilience they've shown, irrespective of the result of this match. 'Still a lot of time left in this Test'

Vaibhav Tripathi: In absence of so many big players in both departments, the inexperienced bowling lineup has been good, whereas the batting lineup which consists of some senior players has not been up to the mark..

Sahaj Khandelwal: Except for Gill, everyone else has gotten a start, yet failed to convert into the 50s and 100s!

Sushanth: Indian lower-order contribution to the batting scorecard is a treat to watch. Wonderful approach from Sundar and Thakur.

Siva: Mighty impressed with Sundar and Thakur so far! This series is living proof that no matter how big your IPL contracts are, domestic cricket should never be overlooked.

Anuj: India have to now take it session by session, over by over, and we will be in a much better position.. The runs have come in at a good pace, despite losing wickets!

Nikhil Ajmire: Don't forget Washington Sundar is a top order batsman. He also represented and batted at number 4 in the u-19 World Cup, same which Pant represented. And bats in the top-order for Tamil Nadu.

Harsha Bhogle: Was so important, India went through this session losing no more than one wicket. Losing Mayank is a big blow because it exposes a newcomer and the tail.

Taha Haidery: "If he scores big, Mayank Agarwal can rewrite a new chapter in his career, this time in the middle order. Positive against the spinners, stroke playing confident batsmen." - That could certainly be a positive that comes out of the rubble of the fitness issues of the Indian squad. And yes, he does seem superbly confident against spin.

Simar: "Hi, Can you give update on Saini, is he gonna bowl in 2nd innings. Thanks" - Nope, nothing official yet, and I doubt we're getting anything on this until Australia bats again

Rajat: India looking much positive, and more importantly, trying to be positive with punches and cuts and quick singles.

Neeraj: How's weather forecast for today? -- It is set to be clear today. Worry though is Day 4 and Day 5

Anish: This partnership will be not just a match defying but the series, character and career deciding for Rahane and Pujara. They will have to step out of their comfort zone and show the world what they are made of.

Krishna: "Overcast conditions in Brisbane. Not looking great for cricket." - There's some rain forecast over the next few days too, but not enough to affect the cricket too much.

Tanwi: "What do you think, playing like Rohith(aggresively) is best or like Pujara?" - Perhaps your answer lies somewhere in between. After all, you wouldn't want to live in the sun, but nor would you fancy the north pole without a windsheeter.

Mihir: "Rohit was limping while going back to dressing room? Is he injured too?" - It may be that dodgy hammie of his, but we'll get official word soon.

Mohit Tiwari: Cummins always manages to get something extra from the pitch, amazing bowler.

shobhit: India need to build another strong opening partnership, Rohit and Gill have looked in great touch and just need to bat as long as possible.

Mohit: I guess both the teams had opportunities to do better and neither would be happy with the way things are sitting right now. Although Indians would be little more okay with it, as it could have been much much worse for them

Ayan Maiti: This where Aussies can hurt India. Their tail has been really effective and with this inexperienced bowling line up, they would look to capitalize. India need to bowl more yorkers and bouncers to restrict them.

Swapnil Mahajan: Paine has definitely come out there with a plan to shut all the criticism around him and answering well with the bat.

PV Krishna: With 87/3 and that too the Modern Bradman departs without a ton, India had their noses ahead at that point. And 216 runs added for the loss of only 2 wickets afterwards kept Aussies in the driver's seat. Inexperienced bowling is certainly the main reason. Need a breakthrough now badly.

Anmol Singh: Physio of the Indian team definitely needs a pay rise here.

Josh: This should be the best batting day of the match. If India can get rid of this partnership and take care of the tail within the first session, then 2 sessions of batting on this Gabba surface will have to be capitalized upon.

Subramaniya Prabhu: Tim badly needs a good innings. Since 2018, captain's of AUS, AFG and IRE haven't had a hundred to their name.

AB: The lack of experience in the Indian pace attack is evident. With the new ball, bowlers are giving away loose balls and the middle-order batsmen are encashing.

Kapish: This series has been a perfect example of different folk standing up in different matches, wonder who the Man of this series will be!

Anubhav Mathur: Natrajan's story is nothing short of an inspiration to all of us. Had it not been for those brilliant performances in the IPL for his franchise, he would have been playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for TN at this time. Playing for India would not have been in his wildest of dreams.

Mehar: Wicket from no where but thats how Wade has fared so far in this series.Natarajan won't complain though. One of many more to come for Natarajan

Kushan: 75 runs in the last 16 overs, the match is slowly but surely already slipping away from India's grasp

Vivaan: Marnus Labushchagne definitely the man of the series for me. He has contributed in almost every game, and India have no answer for him. Brilliant find!

Harsha Bhogle: Two set batsmen, oldish ball, bowler short, it is set up for Australia. Bowlers need to be really disciplined and intense

DIPEN: India need a wicket to get back into this one. Had they taken the chances that came their way, they would have probably been on top in this game at the moment but they are still not far away from it. They know a wicket or two and it will see them get back on top.

Jaidev: Indians have been very cold on the field. I reckon they should be vivid even with half chances to put pressure on the batsmen.

SHIKHAR GOVIL: Yes, there has been a plethora of catches dropped, but Marnus has made full use of it and been the most consistent batsman in this series.

Harsha Bhogle: Labuschagne should buy a lottery ticket.....

Sandesh Baviskar: Undoubtedly Marnus has been best batsmen in this series but he has been very lucky with dropped catches and a couple of LBW calls going his way. Fortune favours the brave!

Nitin: What is the update on Saini? -- Nothing alarming. He's back on the field.

Harsha Bhogle: Can't believe another Indian bowler has gone down ... While we laud the resilience, is it time to start thinking why so many are going down with muscle related issues?

Ramsy: "If the amount of catches India have dropped in this series were caught, India would have won the series by now." - And of course, if all the catches Australia dropped remained dropped. Wishful thinking, fella...

Jay: "One wicket from here gives India the opportunity to finish Australian innings by today.They need to bowl some good lengths to get them out" - They'd give anything to break this partnership here.

Jake: "Is it just me or is the wicket not bouncing as high through to the keeper as the years gone by?" - The Gabba hasn't been the same since the 2017/18 Ashes.

Nithin: "The fact that only two centuries have been scored in the entire series so far is evident that bowling has been amazing by both the teams throughout the series."

Biswa: "You cannot get Kuldeep if you are not getting Saha. India's decision to go with Pant is the reason you have to drop Kuldeep." - That's an interesting point of view, but possibly a little far-fetched if this has to do with Pant's quality of wicketkeeping against spin...

Harsha Bhogle: Isn't it fantastic that places like Karnal, Chinnappampatti and Palghar are providing cricketers to the Indian team? Such beautiful stories....

Utkarsh: "Already see India bowling wide of stumps, must try to make them play as many as they can with this new ball doing a bit."

Shrey: "With Bumrah, Shami, Ishant, Umesh and Bhuvi injured India are eventually fielding their 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th fast bowler in Thakur, Siraj, Saini & Natarajan. The amount of good quality fast bowlers India has been able to produce in recent years is commendable!"

Harsha Bhogle: Just wonder if India could have played Kuldeep Yadav for one of the quicks.....

Harsha Bhogle: I will be very interested in seeing whether India approach this match asking why life has thrown them into this predicament. Or whether they are buoyed by the opportunity and that they have nothing to lose.

Harsha Bhogle: Looks like there are debuts for Natarajan and Sundar. Life throws opportunities when you least expect them. These two were retained as net bowlers originally! Wish them well.
