Sri Lanka vs West Indies, 2nd Test, West Indies tour of Sri Lanka, 2021 - CommentarySL vs WI, 2nd Test, West Indies tour of Sri Lanka, 2021 - Commentary
Aron: This match might be the exact replica of the IND vs NZ first test. Exciting times awaited.
N V Jagadeep: Great opportunity for Shai Hope to regain his form back.
Aditya: '@Prakhar Sachdeo - Not possible. And it is almost certain with Nkrumah Bonner playing the slow game along with Blackwood. If it was Day 4 then WI could have thought about the chase. But in 2 sessions, 200 runs is a lot . Besides, WI has an inexperienced side."
Ameen: "No matter what the result of this match, have to say the Windies have put up a really good fight in these alien conditions just like they did in Bangladesh earlier this year. 2021 has been a year of away teams in Test cricket and hope WI don't lose this match if not win."
N V Jagadeep: "Great captaincy from Karunaratne. Never an easy task to handle young talents who at times will be under tremendous pressure while bowling key overs and hope Jayawickrama, Embuldeniya and Ramesh Mendis will be another RANGANA HERATH and AJANTA MENDIS in shaping Sri Lanka's bright future."
Prakhar Sachdeo: "West Indies are no way out of the Test. The pitch is not doing much. This could be a successful chase from the West Indies."
Animag: "The umpiring in this match has been top notch."
Sahan: "Mayers special again anyone?"
Japkirat: I think a lead of about 270 will be enough. Sri Lanka would like to get there before stumps and probably make Windies bat a few overs..
NK Karthee: Kusal Perera at Durban in 2019. DDS at Galle in 2021. Magnificent Test knocks under pressure for SL..
Shikhar: Hard to believe that DDS had been benched for the entire T20 World Cup. Such a versatile player across formats!
Anant: DDS, take a bow!
Tahseen: "It's time to bring the man with golden arm, Kyle Mayers."
Kaura: "Unable to understand the strategy deployed by WI. They should operate Roach from one end and a spinner from our end to put some pressure. At present it is working in favor of Sri Lanka."
Vikrant Izardar: "Anything above 200 as the target should be enough for SL. It would be difficult to score on the 5th day on this pitch."
Ravindra: "With Mathews not fully fit, DDS is the key here for SL to post a winning total. He looks set as well to make it a big one."
Vedansh: "100 runs more and SL have the match in their hands."
Waseem: How is the weather in Galle? Any rain interruptions?--- so far a cloudless sky!
Sahan: These runs are extremely useful on these kinds of testing pitches..
NK Karthee: @Laxman Viswanath, Bowlers field near boundary lines, hydrate themselves, talk with the coaches and relax themselves.
Laxman Viswanath: @CB - Why do batsmen always stand in as the close-in fielders and not the bowlers?---- that's because if a bowler gets hit on his hand and goes off injured, then you have a major problem. Also batsmen are considered to be better fielders.
Lokendra Singh Chouhan: Embuldeniya had bowled 1/3 of the total overs of this innings. SL should give the ball to DDS or Asalanka, who are handy bowlers too.
Maha: "When the impact was in line ya'll missed a huge missed opportunity to say, 'Bonner is goner'."
Parijat Mishra: "Half-century after a long time for Brathwaite, surely will boost his confidence."
Sahan: "In the previous match it was the Windies fans who were hoping for some rain to save them. But as it seems now, it's the Sri Lankan fans who will be praying for some rain"
Lalith: "West Indies look so good when they start scoring runs."
Omkar Kewat: "SL spinners are either bowling too full or too short. They need to hit that perfect wicket taking length to produce some magic."
Modi: "Six fours in the last 10 overs. SL bowlers are losing the grip already."
NK Karthee: "Boundaries have been hit frequently by WI batsmen. SL should tight the run flow. When one or two wickets fall, we can expect another collapse from WI."
N V Jagadeep: Hope Windies makes it count. They need to grab this opportunity to set their record right against mighty Lankans ( Galle winless record). Remember the same team which we saw at Chattogram chasing 400 in fourth innings.
ram: Checked the score an hour back and SL were 2 down. 5 wickets in less than an hour?! Is it bad batting or super bowling?--- The pitch is turning and West Indies' spinners have found their lines and lengths this morning.
Sharath: Oh My! This is some serious collapse!
Hashan: Hopefully, Oshada Fernando finds his form back in this innings
Hussain Haleedh: Nissanka is proving to be a real threat for the West Indies
Rishab Jain: Why doesn't West Indies groom a leg-spinner which can be effective in both home conditions and Away conditions?
Hayden Walsh Jr. can be an option in future.
