PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Evildricks: "@Keshav, I don't think Windies will attack at all. They were already blocking everything from Day 2 and now they have to score 289 in 67 overs on a Day 5 pitch."
Keshav: "It would be exciting to see Windies' approach, whether they will come all guns blazing or block everything."
Robin Gandhi: "@Pradeesh Reddy - A roof doesn't mean it needs to be fixed. We have stadiums with retractable roofs. Comes into action only when its raining to continue the play. Totally disagree with your point."
Pradeesh Reddy: "Having a roof built on stadiums is a no-no for me. The ability that a climatic change possesses in changing the conditions, course of the game is one of the reasons which makes cricket a unique sport. If I was an administrator, I would never entertain that thought."
Eshan Khot: "@Gautam - I think Ben Stokes and Rohit Sharma have something else to say to you about sixes being hit in a Test match. Agree with the sentiment though!"
Vinod Dass: "Since India are in a strong position to win this match, there are discussions about roofs. Imagine a '90s Indian team looking to score 289 runs on the final day with Tendulkar and Azhar in the hut and staring at bowlers like Walsh, Ambrose, Bishop, Patterson ... one would think a draw is better."
Gautam: "Stadiums with retractable roofs may be risky for T20s and ODIs but can definitely be a great option for Test cricket. The number of times a team will hit a six in an innings will be fairly low. So not much risk of the ball hitting the roof. And the other two formats have DLS to salvage a result."
Vipin: "Rain really plays an essential part in Test cricket. No roofs please."
Aniket Sharma: "How are people still not agreeing on roof! That is the only, only, only good way to stop it. Just need to make sure the roofs are at a good height. it is definitely not that difficult. I am a structural engineer, I know it is not that difficult."
Aniket: "Closed roofs please. With a good height. Everything will be fine."
Tushar: "@ahamad- Neutral venues won't pull the crowd(at least for test matches) and that loss would be higher than the cost of reserve days."
Ahamad Ahamad: "Reserve day - will cost lot of money, even though it is not used. Points based on 1st innings - will lead captains to drag 1st innings score to safer side, which may have effect on result of the game. Boards have to look for neutral venue in rainy season."
Spikky Roh: "@Bhavya - A reserve day comes with a lot of additional cost so not every match can be given a reserve day."
Mahesh: "Points based on First Innings lead can be one solution .. I know we love comebacks, but mostly team with substantial lead in first inning goes on to win the matches.."
Prashant khandhar: "Firstly Ashes, now this one.. Weather spoiling the excitement of Test cricket.!!"
Bhavya Nishar: "Given how every match becomes important in context of WTC, reserve days are more necessary now than ever."
Nabajit Rajbongshi: Jaiswal showed tremendous patience in his debut innings and now it's time he brings his IPL batting to the show. - Seems he read this before you even typed it.
Siddhesh: Promote the CSK version of Rahane after this!
Shubham: Athanaze was saved couple of times by umpire's call and got out by umpire's call.
Yuvraj: West Indies are already playing for a draw here.
Plv Rajshekar: "I am a cricket crazy buff from Hyderabad living in Hamburg, Germany watching the matches in Port of Spain and Manchester and guess what - It's raining in all 4 cities."
Krishna Kamakshi Brahma: "Wow Ishan, just before that ball he stated 'Let's us take a wicket before rain break', Silva smiled and the next ball clean bowled."
Parth: India missing Shardul "golden arm" Thakur to break this partnership.
Parth: A sense of Jadeja's pace can be gauged by how short the commentary descriptions are for each ball.
Smit Chhadva: I would love this prodigy Tagenarine to do well here and extend the Chanderpaul legacy.
Mohit Dagar: Is something wrong with your commentary? VK run out? Seriously? That too in test match? Rare sight. -- Law of Exceptions.
Soham K: Pitch seems to have quickened up. Ball is travelling better to the keeper.
Santos: Congrats to Kohli, but also, well done Jadeja! Man's been playing exceptional knocks all round the globe!
Amit: Kohli is "AGEING LIKE A FINE WINE".
ashay: Ravindra Jadeja is right now the finest complete cricketer.
Prakhar Sachdeo: "Good to see some sort of fight back from the West Indies. It really makes things interesting."
Ujwal: Both Jaiswal and Rohit middling the ball with ease and looking way more comfortable.
Pavan: India should try to take some cues from the Ashes and try to bat positively to score quick runs.
Ketal: Love the ease with which Rohit despatches the short ball!
Shikhar Hingar: Virat's 500th match today.. Class player, class career, and much more to go! #VK500
