Prithu Baskota is a Nepali right-handed batsman who also bowls right-arm off break. He was a part of the 14-member Nepal squad for the 2012 World T20 Qualifier. He made his T20 debut in that tournament against Hong Kong and scored 83 runs in 9 matches at an average of 20.75. Unfortunately, Nepal could not qualify for the main tournament.

Later in 2012, he was also a part of the Nepal Under-19 side for the Under-19 World Cup in Australia. In August 2012, he was again a part of the 14-member side for the World Cricket League Division Four in Malaysia. Baskota made his List A debut in the World Cup Qualifier in January 2014 against Scotland. On 28 January 2014, in Nepal's 9th place play-off against Uganda, Baskota was the top-scorer in the side scoring 59 runs, his highest in List A cricket. He was retired hurt in that game and could not carry on further but made sure Nepal reached a good score of 240. They easily won the game by a huge margin of 160 runs.
