Rodrigues steers Southern Brave past Sunrisers; Welsh Fire crush MI London
Southern Brave maintained their winning start in the Women’s Hundred with a five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Leeds at Headingley, chasing down 117 with four balls to spare. Jemimah Rodrigues anchored the chase with an unbeaten 42 off 34 balls after Brave had slipped to 36 for 3, following early strikes from Cassidy McCarthy (2 for 14) and Danielle Gibson, which removed the star-studded top three of Lizelle Lee, Maia Bouchier and Laura Wolvaardt. Rodrigues rebuilt the innings alongside Sophie Molineux (21 off 17) in a 35-run fourth-wicket stand and then added 39 with Jodi Grewcock for the next wicket.
Earlier, opener Bryony Smith's 48 off 34 balls, featuring six fours and a six, laid the foundation for Leeds' 116. She added 57 runs for the third wicket with Annabel Sutherland (22 off 19) before Sarah Glenn broke through, sending Sutherland back to the pavilion and triggering a collapse. Tilly Corteen-Coleman then got rid of Gibson and Issy Wong (3 for 15) ran through the batting order. Deepti Sharma provided late impetus with a brisk 23 off 14 balls to lift Leeds to a competitive total, but Rodrigues' composed innings ensured the total wasn’t enough.

After suffering an eight-run defeat in their opening game of Women’s Hundred, Welsh Fire bounced back emphatically with a commanding 60-run win over MI London, piling up 177 for 4 before bowling their opponents out for only 117. The platform was laid by Georgia Voll's fluent 42 off 26 balls at the top, but it was Sophie Devine (52 off 29) and Georgia Wareham (43* off 20) with a brutal 79-run stand for the fourth wicket which came off only 36 balls.
While defending the total, Welsh Fire struck early through Grace Potts, who removed Hayley Matthews and Kira Chathli inside the first 16 balls before returning to bowl Danni Wyatt-Hodge for 12. Emily Arlott then accounted for Amelia Kerr while Sophie Devine dismissed Nicola Carey to leave MI London reeling at 50 for 5. Chinelle Henry (30) and Alice Davidson-Richards (18) added 46 runs for the seventh wicket, but the chase had long slipped away. MI London went on to be bowled out for 117 with eight balls still left in the innings.
