Equal pay for male and female Australian cricketers as per new MoU

A compromise was finally struck between Cricket Australia and Australian Cricketers' Association, bringing the 10-month long pay dispute to an end. Key features of the new Memorandum of Understanding was revealed on Thursday (August 3). The ACA will conduct a player's vote in the next 24 hours on the proposed revenue model, the outcome of which they believe will be positive. Below are the key points of the new MoU:

• Five-year term. One agreement for male and female cricketers for the first time in Australian cricket
• A revenue sharing model ensuring that all cricketers - male and female - are partners in the game of cricket
• A gender-equity pay model, with the biggest rise in the history of women's sport in Australia
• A revenue sharing model in which the players will share 30% of the agreed revenue, consisting of 27.5% of the forecast revenue streams and a 2.5% performance pool. This is estimated to be up to $500 million in the next five-year period
• For any over-revenue forecast, the maintenance of the adjustment ledger will continue. All domestic and international - male and female players - will be sharing this revenue
• An amount of nearly $25 million will flow directly to grassroots from this fund if the forecast is achieved
• The fund will be administered by the committee, that will involve equal participation from the CA and ACA and aligned with the game development strategies for the next five years
• The ACA will also maintain the cricketers' brand for some commercial activities, but have signed over majority of those rights in the agreement
• Players will have a greater right in scheduling through a standing advisory board and it will be improved over time
• All non-contracted players, on the signing of the full MoU - which will be continued to be negotiated for the next four to six weeks - will then receive the back pay once that is resolved
