PLAYER OF THE MATCH
PLAYER OF THE SERIES
Prijith: "Finally a nice end to the Summer for the Aussies and their fans all over the world."
Karthick S: @Benjamin: It may not indicate the form but it will give him plenty of confidence which in turn will make him more lethal. He is someone who needs confidence & rhythm
Benjamin: I don't think Starc having one good match against a, frankly, sub-standard side, is cause for celebration. He bowled poorly against India, and has even been expensive against Sri Lanka. One good match does not a return to form indicate.
Bronsen Maxwell: My goodness! Mitchell Starc is coming back to the big towering quick that we all know and love out here today!! 9 for the match and possibly more to come! Albeit this is against a very depleted Sri Lankan outfit, but this is just what the big man needed!! Hopefully he can do this in England!!
Micheal Oliver: "Starc has shown his class this morning."
Prijith: "Get well Soon Karunaratne. Hope you have a speedy recovery."
Nikhil: "After that unfortunate incident of Karunaratne, I hope this day has some happy ending."
RV: "If Sri Lanka can go wicket-less today, that will be great."
Ramkiran: "The pitch is absolutely flat. I think Sri Lanka will show some fight as they did against NZ."
SP: @SUMITH "Australia and England rate Ashes equal to WC if not above. I doubt Starc will leave Tests to focus just on ODIs." ------ Australia won't play any Test match after this one so Starc will only have World Cup to focus on.
SUMITH PATEL: "Starc should concentrate more on ODI's more rather than on Test. Australia need him in the World Cup."
Keshore: "Yet again, off to a horrid start is Starc. Looks completely out of rhythm and he needs more game time."
NIJIN: "Karunarathne will score 200." --- Bold statement. He still needs 175 runs more.
Suvodip Banik: "No centuries in the whole summer until yesterday and now Australia have three centurions in one innings."
PR: "Declaring without even getting his own 50. Tim Paine is what a team player."
Harry: Would have been an entirely different story had Australia batted like this in their first innings of Adelaide Test vs India!
Ajay: This is the Australia we know, scoring at a healthy run rate. Though it came against a mediocre bowling line up.
dipen: This has become carnage. Australia could score 400 in the day
chakradhar: "Head proved in the India series that he belongs at this level. Maiden century took a while to come but hope he continues making big hundreds for Australia."
Anmol: "Burns should have been selected ahead of Finch against India."
Shanky: No Aussie has scored a century this summer and a traditionally flat wicket at Manuka Oval will provide the last chance at redemption for a misfiring top and middle order who will be fighting for Ashes spots later this year.
VD: "The inexperienced Sri Lankan bowlers are all over the Australian top order."
