Afghanistan vs Ireland, Only Test, Afghanistan v Ireland in India, 2019 - CommentaryAFG vs IRE, Only Test, Afghanistan v Ireland in India, 2019 - Commentary
AKSHAT VERMA: History re-written by Afghanistan, this is just a beginning, more yet to come
Mitesh Bhatt: This innings from Janat and Rahmat certainly showed how Afghanistan has adopted themselves in Test cricket. Lots of maturity, no false shots, perfect text book batting style .
Sony Roy: India took 20 yrs, BAN took 5 yrs, NZ took 25 yrs to achieve their FIRST test win.. But AFG taste their first Test success only in their 2nd test.(1 yr 7 months since they got test status). HISTORIC DAY FOR THE NATION.
Galeite: Board exam tomorrow but still here to witness this momentous achievement.
Haseeb: This is another huge achievement for the Afghanistan cricket, what a great story they have to tell the kids.
Kuldeep Pathak: This is going to be a monumental day in Afghanistan cricket. This win will bolster their stature in International cricket. They have been simply superb in this Test match.
Ishwar: How is the pitch? Will it be easy for AFG to chase down 200 here? -- The pitch is still decent for batting, but the longer Ireland bat, the more difficult it is going to be for Afghanistan as they have to cope with the pressure of batting last on a slow, low surface.
Athul: "Don't they have DRS for this match?" -- Unfortunately, not available.
Rohan: Spirited performance this from the Afghans. The way they have played is commendable as they don’t even have a good first-class circuit. Great show from the batsmen.
Balu: Ireland need to cash in and wrap up things quickly if they are to stay in the contest
Chaitanya: I reckon Tim Murtagh is very underrated bowler !! Look at his consistent line and length.
Kuldeep Pathak: This partnership reminds me of Glenn Mcgrath and Michael Hussey at Gabba against the Kiwis. That day pigeon scored his highest Test match score.
Amal Sajid: For Afghanistan, Mujeeb the number 10 hit the first six ever in Tests, now for Ireland, Murtagh the number 11 hit the first six ever in Tests... Interesting
Manu Jain: Where is Niall O'Brien? He can bat long for Ireland in Tests. -- He's retired and currently commentating for this game.
Dean Winchester: "Cricbuzz, Is the pitch very bad or Ireland is playing very bad today?" -- There's turn on offer, but surely not a 68/7 track!
Bharath: What the hell!I Saw 37-0 few minutes ago
Amit Jodha: Afghanistan have proved me very wrong here, they are on the top of their game. No hard feelings though.
Kuldeep Pathak: Kevin O'Brien holds the key here. He is tactically and temperamentally strong. Afghanistan on the other hand, have had an outstanding start to the Test match.
Amit Jodha: I would say that Ireland is a stronger team in the Test arena, they have a much better first-class structure due to close proximity with England, while Afghanistan doesn't really have a sophisticated first-class structure.
Abhineet: Excited for this match.
If you look at it this way, it's almost like the very first Test match played between Australia and England - two new teams playing against each other for the first time.
Would have been more fitting if they had made their debut against each other.
AGNEL PEREIRA: Best wishes to these minnows of cricket. How nice it would be if ICC grants greater roles to lower ranked teams, esp for the world tournaments!
BTW, hasn't Afghanistan set a record for playing both their first home and first away matches in the same country (India)? -- They sure did Agnel.
Harish: Wonderful toss to win for Ireland. This would mean that they wouldn't be batting last against a spin-heavy Afghanistan. Bat well and put up a high score in the first innings and the game will be interesting.
Hariprem: Great day for both Ireland and Afghanistan
