Chennai Super Kings
170/5(20)
Kings XI Punjab
173/4(18)
PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Mohan: What a Captaincy, DHONI...! To make sure they stay in top 2 spots in the points table, he handed the ball to his best bowlers before 15 overs. Now Jaddu bowling at the death.
Shubham: 14.2 seems to be a familiar number.. IPL 2014 MIvsRR where Mumbai needed 192 to chase in 14.2 in order to qualify and then came the Corey Anderson show.. This time the case is a bit different but numbers and intent are almost same..
sandeep vutla: Finally, teams which are out of the reckoning for play-off's are showing intent and troubling the top teams for their spots. IPL at its best.
Derick Machado: If Punjab wins this match in 14.2 overs, Delhi would go to the top. Further, if MI wins tonight, then CSK will be pushed to the third position. Good luck CSK.
Harsha Bhogle: Wow, KingsXI, now that is some batting!
Harsha Bhogle: Wow, KingsXI, now that is some batting!
Sai Kiran: Just did the math, even if Punjab hit 6 every ball and chase the target, their NRR will be +0.192, less than SRHs.
Sai: I felt CSK including Dhoni was kind of complacent in the last 4 overs. I really felt there was no intent like the previous matches.
Hemanth: "Sam Curran definitely surprised me with his T20 skills. Having watched BBL I thought his brother was more suited to this format. Sam should probably be among injury back-up players for England this World Cup."
Mukund: "Ravi Ashwin has been quite impressive this season. Was able to contain lots, take a few wickets and gave needed breakthroughs at parts. Would love to see him wear blue soon!"
Shawrya: "Curran is proving to be Punjab's best buy. Hopefully, he'll turn out to be a big asset for them in the years to come."
Shawrya: "CSK can now afford to up their ante. They have a lot of batting to come. And with 183 being chased down in the previous match, targeting 200 will be the right bet."
Srivathsan: This KXIP team is full of changes. Ashwin should have stuck with one plan like CSK and MI who do not often change their team composition."
Vaibhav tripathi: "Making 31 changes and not playing Moises Henriques & Varun Chakravarthy whom they bought for so much money." -- Well it doesn't help that they are injured
Muk: With the form that Varun Chakravarthy was in, Punjab should have given him a few more chances. Expected Ashwin to back him a bit more. Would have been a solution to Punjab's bowling woes! @akshaymaanay -- He was injured for a while and not sure he is back fit.
Mohammed Shehzan: "@cricbuzz any chances for kings eleven to make up to top 4?" -- Nope, they have to chase it in one ball if they have to have a chance
Uttam Saraf: "CSK must make sure they make at least 160+ today. CSK will be second to DC in terms of runrate if Punjab wins the match in 15th over. And then if Mumbai wins against KKR, CSK will finish on third position."
Tushar Agrawal: "Punjab's failures are mainly due to top-order not firing all cylinders and bowling department lacked the composure you would have thought and that is why they deserve to be where they are. Inconsistency at the wrong time has cost them really."
Anirudh: "Watson fails to deliver. Again. Probably too late to make changes to the squad as the team goes into the playoffs? One can only hope he finds his previous season form back."
AssasinArkha: "Murali Vijay deserves a chance at the top. Watson has got too many chances and has failed miserably."
Mr Sharath: "Punjab lacks quality all-rounders like Jadeja/Bravo in CSK or Pandya brothers in MI. So they are compromising lower middle order with an extra bowler. And also their last year hero Tye is not in great form."
Rohit Tiwari: It's only been MSD and the spinners of CSK who have been terrific the whole season. It would be a great chance for players like Rayudu, Raina and Watson to get a good touch through this match before the playoffs.
Parth: Ashwin has had much better season than Kuldeep this year and with his new variations and wicket picking ability, he does deserve a chance to make a comeback into the Indian limited-overs side.
