PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Harsha Bhogle: Mitch Marsh must hope his body supports him for the next 2-3 years. In the form he is in, and with the ability he has, he could turn many matches around...like he has today.
Harsha Bhogle: Mitch Marsh must hope his body supports him for the next 2-3 years. In the form he is in, and with the ability he has, he could turn many matches around...like he has today.
Akash Pal: This is the best of MITCHELL MARSH we have seen in IPL in recent years! Got crucial breakthroughs with the ball in 1st innings and now pacing the run chase excellently.
Samarth Gangwar: Yesterday we saw a crucial role from Rashid Khan to defend a low score, same is required from Chahal to win it for RR
Vishal: Mitch Marsh has been the Ace card for Delhi in the last few matches. Even today, the way he is batting is superior than lot of experienced batsmen. If DC wants to win this match, he has to stay till the end.
Harshit: Chahal holds the key for RR as the match is in balance. He needs to make an impact for RR to win
Akshit Garg: Mitchell Marsh has looked good this season but the problem is he gets stuck every time in the mid 20s and 30s
Vijay: If RR can send Ashwin in the Powerplay, Delhi can send Shardul as he has the ability to find the gaps and play some attacking too..
Paras: DC batters need to take cue from Ashwin and DDP's innings. This is not a track where you can go from ball one and look to whack everywhere. Need sensible approach to take their time, build the innings, and then look for shots.
Varun: I don't understand this tactic of RR to promote Ashwin up the order when they have a proper batsman in Rassie van der Dussen. Yes, it worked out today but Rassie, with enough time, could have found his form and it would have been effective especially in the absence of Hetmyer.
Deval: Rassie is a complete innings builder and accelerator at the end , only giving him 15 balls is just not the full utilization of his potential
Jaswanth: Don't ever think to put a limit for Ravi Ashwin that he is just a bowler, he can bat like a batsman too. What an innings from him, take a bow!!
Kishan: Pant needs to work on tactics. On slower wicket he is yet to bowl Lalit Yadav. Also he is bowling Axar while knowing that after Padikkal, RR have right handers, so could have held him for a while.
Archit: Devdutt Padikkal against left-arm spinners is always a big no. Jadeja was hit for biggies, and so were a few others. Pant seems to be getting the match-ups wrong here.
Manan Rohit Padia: Seems like Ashwin again has to retire out.
Himanshu: I believe that sending Ashwin up is a solid decision because he can play the role of anchor at number three extremely well, whilst Sanju and the rest can go bonkers at death.
Koushik: With Narine being sent up the order , followed by Ashwin now, it would be interesting to see if Hasranga could be tried as a dasher in the powerplay. He is more than capable with the bat and could be given the license to send some out of the park.
Raghu: Guessed it right that Buttler would go early. Unfortunately for RR, his form is tailing off in the wrong end of the competition. With the ever unreliable Samson also blowing hot and (mostly) cold, RR's campaign could end with league phase.
Shailesh: With pitches getting slow in 2nd half of the tournament, batting second can prove to be suicidal we have already seen the signs yesterday.
