PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Harsha Bhogle: Only a modest target for India and therefore, an easy, controlled run-chase. Was hardly ever in doubt.

akshay: Dhoni heard you Praneeth
Praneeth: Don't want to see Dhoni taking even this game to the last over! -- The reactions to this comment will get us through to the end
Harsha Bhogle: Delighted for Dinesh Karthik. Carrying his form in domestic cricket into international cricket. Brave, encouraging selection

Harsha Bhogle: While we watch the development of Hardik Pandya with much interest, I must admit to being perplexed by Dhoni being dropped down the order

Shubham Dogra: Yet another SIX for Pandya vs a spinner. Why do the captains still use spinners against Pandya? -- He does have tremendous hitting ability against spin, you're right. But there's an opportunity for the bowler too. Not many have succeeded though, I'll give you that.
Bhavya Nishar: With all the hype and focus on Boult and Southee, it is Milne who delivers for NZ today! -- He's bowled with a lot of fire here
Huzefa: @Vivek: DK didn't count the umpire as an extra fielder. He didn't see the square leg fielder as he may be behind the umpire -- Another possibility
vivek: DK miscalculated the fielders but as i can think from your explanation he counted umpire as an fielder. As per my knowledge there are rules for minimum number of fielders inside the circle but not on maximum so if one extra fielder is in circle then how can be it's a No-ball? -- That's a good point. Maybe he miscalculated it in some other way then.
Srinivas: "He miscalculated the number of fielders in the ring and counted the square leg umpire to be a fielder. So slogs across the line to a cutter and is beaten.".. This was awesome and really hilarious -- Wouldn't have been too funny for him had he holed out
Shan: I hope DK can make some runs today. It is a good opportunity for him to bat right now.
Yash Rajkor: Van Zyl of SA got Kohli in the 2nd innings in the similar fashion as today, 1st test at Mohali last time when SA toured India
Anchit Jain: Isn't it too harsh on Rahane not getting a game after being in such a good nick? I somehow still feel he can bat at 4 if given a longer run and he has the maturity to bat there. Gives a lot of confidence when the second wicket falls and Rahane walks in rather than a Karthik or a Jadhav! -- Well, they've set their minds on using him only as an opener, for better or worse. So that's that.
Ajay Garhwal: Do you have any restriction on length of name for publishing comments -- Who are you planning on posing as?
Jayesh Petkar: Targets such as these are really tricky at times. Tend to get confused whether to play aggressively or defensively. But I reckon India will level the series tonight. #1-1 -- That'd be the safer bet
Divyansh: Which is a better bowling pair to have visited India in past 2 months - Pat Cummins and NCN or Tim and Trent?? -- You wouldn't mind either of those two pairs to be honest. Take your pick.
Harsha Bhogle: Really looking forward to seeing how Rohit and Dhawan play Boult. Luckily, they don't have a big target ahead so don't need to take chances.

Harsha Bhogle: The seamers have delivered 5-83 in 20 overs. Just confirms how critical Bhuvi and Bumrah have become.

Harsha Bhogle: Valuable runs at the end for NZ. But 230-9 well below the par scores anticipated. Pitch report spoke of this being an easy surface to bat on

Bob: The key is they support each other and play as a team. No prima donnas and, of course, having MSD is the big plus. He is great with the youngsters
Darshan: India looks to wrap this up before I get home from office.
Harsha Bhogle: Good day for India with the ball after an off day in Mumbai. New Zealand way below where they would have liked to be.

Vaibhav: The contest is expected to be really interesting in the second half, as the Kiwi bowlers are good enough to extract the best out of the grass, and lets not forget the dew factor!!!
Chetan: I have never seen a more dominant Indian team than this one. They are hardworking, ruthless, boring and successful
Abhishek Rana: chahal on fire..
Karan Singh: This Grandhomme is a serious hitter of the cricket ball..
AMIT OAK: Today is a birthday for Kiwi Off Spinner Dipak Patel and Indian pacer Umesh Yadav. Happy birthday to them.
Shivit Singh: That's the thing with great bowlers. They will give you a breakthrough almost every time the game is slipping away. Bhuvi, simple but simply awesome!!
Sachin Bansal: Anything around 275+ would be a tricky total to chase. We all know how good the Kiwi attack is and the Indian batsmen are not that comfortable against the left armers.
Harsha Bhogle: When was the last time you saw a set batsman (Latham) bowled middle stump trying to sweep.
Harsha Bhogle: When was the last time you saw a set batsman (Latham) bowled middle stump trying to sweep.
Sachin Bansal: Don't you think Kohli should have deployed his specialist spinners first when both Taylor & Latham were new to the crease?? Seems like both of them have settled now -- You can always make an argument for it, but Kedar doing a fine job from what I can tell
Jason: Perhaps the real game begins now as both Ross Taylor and Tom Latham looked really good in the first game.
Anan Banerjee: The truth is, we used Pune curator's incident in the morning to spread the rumour that it's a 330+ wicket. Poor Kiwis won't trust such hoax ever again :)
Harsha Bhogle: This is now an outstanding opening spell, another outstanding opening spell dare I say, from Bhubaneswar and Bumrah.

Shakhil Srivastava: It's a blessing in disguise for India having lost the toss and batting second, they will have to be wary of Santner in the second innings though.
Pratik: India find themselves in unfamiliar territory, having to fight to save a series, But bank on them to get through it.
