Az: When the first two wickets fell in a row very early in the innings, the Avishka-Mendis partnership was built with the intent of batting through 50 overs and keeping the scoreboard ticking. This is what was lacking in the SL team for years. Good to see them back at that zone again!

Az: Either Avishka or Mendis (or both) need to stay longer and see this through. Sri Lankan middle order is prone to sudden collapses. A strong foundation would give the big hitters like Udana and Thisara to finish the innings well.

safwan: Sri lanka missed the trick of seeing off the new ball and lost two early wickets. But Mendis and Avishka have done a good job so far.
